In Advanced AI Workflows for VFX Artists, you’ll learn how emerging tools in softwares like ComfyUI, Runway, Beeble, and Nuke can be used in modern production. You’ll learn these tools by creating a complete cinematic shot using a hybrid AI + traditional pipeline.

This course won’t teach you how to make an “AI movie.” But it will help you understand how AI can fit into modern VFX without replacing the craft.
NOTE: This course assumes that students have prior experience in Nuke (intermediate or advanced) and ComfyUI (beginner or intermediate). Familiarity with Python tooling in Nuke is also beneficial.
Doug Hogan is a creative technologist with 20 years in the VFX industry at the forefront of how studios are approaching AI integration today. His credits include Space Jam: A New Legacy, G-Force, Scoob!, and Free Birds.
Doug is currently Senior Creative Technologist at Groove Jones, a consultant for ComfyUI on studio-grade features, and is sponsored by Dell and The Foundry for his work in AI and Nuke.
Additionally, Doug teaches ActionVFX’s Introduction to ComfyUI for VFX, a recommended (though not required) pre-requisite for this course.
