The Industry Changed in '93. It's Changing Again.

When digital tools reshaped VFX in the 90s, the artists who adapted became the foundation of the next generation of studios.

We’re in a similar moment.

In Advanced AI Workflows for VFX Artists, you’ll learn how emerging tools in softwares like ComfyUI, Runway, Beeble, and Nuke can be used in modern production. You’ll learn these tools by creating a complete cinematic shot using a hybrid AI + traditional pipeline.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Relight shots using depth, normals, and lighting passes from multiple LLM-assisted tools
  • Handle cleanplates, matte paintings, and face replacements with a hybrid workflow
  • Track shots in 3D and integrate elements in Nuke’s 3D space
  • Build custom nodes and automate pass assembly
  • Make technical decisions about when and how to use AI to support the shot
  • and more!

This course won’t teach you how to make an “AI movie.” But it will help you understand how AI can fit into modern VFX without replacing the craft.

NOTE: This course assumes that students have prior experience in Nuke (intermediate or advanced) and ComfyUI (beginner or intermediate). Familiarity with Python tooling in Nuke is also beneficial.
